Participant**PKB Says Not Certain to Support Anies Baswedan** PKB Deputy Secretary General Syaiful Huda emphasized that his party is not certain to support Anies Baswedan in the 2024 Jakarta Pilkada. This is because PKB still has one more name being considered, namely Ida Fauziyah. “PKB has not yet decided to support Anies, we are considering two names,” said Huda, during an interview at the Parliamentary Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, on June 26.
Betty explained that the KPU also issued the policy for using Sirekap. However, the KPU will present the form of Sirekap to Commission II of the House of Representatives (DPR RI) regarding its use in the regional elections. “The KPU regulations and policies will be presented first. They can provide input as usual, no problem,” she explained.
PDIP Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto voiced his opinion on the speculation about a duet between Anies Baswedan and Basuki Tjahaja Purnama, also known as Ahok, as governor and deputy governor candidates in the Jakarta Pilkada. Hasto stated that his party is open to the nation’s best talents.
**PKS Receives Positive Signal from Surya Paloh to Build Coalition in Jakarta Pilkada** The Prosperous Justice Party (PKS) has nominated the Anies Baswedan-Sohibul Iman pair for the 2024 Jakarta Pilgub. PKS President Ahmad Syaikhu mentioned that the General Chairman of the Nasdem Party, Surya Paloh, has given a positive signal towards this duo. “I’m continuously building political communication with the NasDem Party, especially I made an effort to meet Mr. Surya Paloh, alhamdulillah he received me warmly and gave a positive signal to build cooperation in the Jakarta Pilkada,” said Syaikhu at the Sahid Hotel, Jakarta, on Tuesday. Syaikhu said that PKS needs to build communication with other political parties, including NasDem, to meet the requirements for the nomination of governor and deputy governor in the Jakarta Pilkada. “PKS understands it cannot endorse a candidate alone because the number of seats we have does not yet meet the requirements to nominate independently; we have only 18 seats, and the requirement is 22. So, we still need 4 more seats,” he stated. After NasDem, PKS will shortly build communication with the Chairman of the National Awakening Party (PKB), Muhaimin Iskandar or Cak Imin, to build a coalition in the Jakarta Pilkada. “God willing, in the next few days, I will also attempt to communicate with PKB, with Cak Imin,” he concluded.
Director General of Population and Civil Registration (Dukcapil) Irman stated that in updating voter data for the simultaneous regional elections starting at the end of 2015, a one-door system is used. This ensures that there are no duplicate voter data. “The guarantee is that we manage the population database with an online system. Therefore, duplicate data, God willing, will no longer exist,” said Irman after the handover of the Potential Voter Population Data (DP4) at the Ministry of Home Affairs building in Jakarta, Wednesday, June 3, 2015.
“Whether through the civil service, retired military and police, socio-cultural groups, professional groups such as doctors, cultural figures, engineers, agricultural experts, and all other professionals can join PDIP,” said Hasto.
According to Anies, besides support from the National Awakening Party (PKB) and PKS, there will be other political parties (parpol) that will also back his determination. “Alhamdulillah after PKB and PKS, Insyaallah there will be other parties willing to struggle together to make Jakarta a modern city with happy citizens,” said Anies through his Instagram account @aniesbaswedan on June 26, 2024. Anies is currently in Spain. He mentioned that upon returning to the homeland, he will immediately communicate with PKS leadership to discuss further steps for the future Jakarta Pilkada 2024. “We’ve struggled together in Jakarta as well as nationally with PKS, God willing we will continue to struggle together in the future,” he said.
According to Irman, the DP4 data provided to the KPU is integrated with the voter identification system using fingerprints and iris scans. Thus, voter identities can be more assured, without duplicate identities. “The updated results will be further processed into the Provisional Voter List (DPS), which will eventually become the Final Voter List (DPT),” he said. He mentioned that the mechanism makes it easier if voter data is updated at any time. The DP4 data provided to the KPU is confirmed to be ready to be used as voter data for the simultaneous regional elections in December 2015. “Population data is dynamic; some pass away, some move, some retire from the military/police,” concluded Irman. **PKS: 2 Coalitions in Jakarta Pilkada More Attractive, Higher Chance of Winning** PKS spokesperson Pipin Sopian mentioned that the party prefers having two coalitions in the 2024 Jakarta Pilgub. This is because the chances of winning are higher as the election will not go to two rounds. “Yes, actually, two or three coalitions are interesting. For us, two coalitions are more attractive; our chances of winning are higher. If there are three coalitions, it could go to two rounds, which we are also considering,” stated Pipin at the Sahid Hotel, Jakarta, on Monday. Pipin mentioned that the possibility of forming a new coalition for the Jakarta Pilgub is still open. However, this must be discussed with other political parties. “All these possibilities exist, and we are just one party among many, so we need to talk together,” he said.
